This example shows how print times can be cut in half using duplicate / ditto printing.
The entire chess board was printed at once utilizing both print heads simultaneously. Watch the part 1 video to see the first layer being printed and the dramatically slower print speed used.
With a little consideration of model size, the distance betweenn the two extruders (x offset) and a little creativity, print times can be cut in half for redundant parts and you can achieve amazing results.
Ditto printing can only be performed with multi-extruder printers and firmware that supports ditto printing.
Cut your print times in half!
Note: The printer needed an identity and Lady in Red was too generic. So the printer was given the name L.I.R.Lene a mashup of Lady In Red and Lurlene Lumpkin (a country western singer Homer Simpson managed in the 90’s).
